Goodbye to 2008… Yes, 2008! We only have a couple of weekends available in November and decided it was time to take the full calendar down and replace it with 2009′s.
I’ve posted our new Availability Calendar online for ’09 and will be updating it as we continue to book more weddings for the future year. A special smile goes out for those couples who have already started their planning and booked us. For access on the site, go to the Pricing tab and click the Wedding Availability link at the bottom of the page.
So Happy New Year to 2009!

It just isn’t Pennsylvania without some road construction!
Paul just found this article on the web informing the public about the closure of The Boulevard of the Allies outbound approaching Oakland. The closure will last for 11 months, as will the exit ramp that touches down on Forbes Avenue.
We realize this will cause some traffic headaches for those of you having ceremonies in Oakland (Heinz Chapel, St. Paul’s Cathedral, First Baptist Church, etc.) and preparations & receptions in downtown or the airport area. We will ensure to add additional travel time into our planning so as to minimize any impact road closures might have on your wedding day photography.
We will continue to monitor the road situation as your day gets closer.

It’s time to enroll…
We have selected the date for the Spring Session of Wedding University. Mark your calenders for April 5th, 2008, tell the fiance’ that the two of you have plans and contact us for the details!
Past graduates of WedU have enjoyed this exciting fast-paced course on how to have a smooth and easy time on your wedding day. You’ll receive three hours of practical advice on topics as wide ranging as how to cut the cake, the secrets of a tuxedo, how to deal with unity candles, and how to get away from pesky relatives. We’ll serve wedding cake, wine, and a huge slice of fun. Bring your notebook and a pen, we’ll supply the rest!
Due to the limits we place on class sizes for an effective learning atmosphere, attendees will be accepted on a first come, first served basis so contact us ASAP for your reservation. Sadly, at this time we can only accommodate couples that have selected us to be their wedding photographers. If you are not our client but would be interested in attending future sessions, contact us for more details. Phone 724-467-2391 or email PaulMeyer@PaulMeyerPhotography.com to get your name on the list.
We look forward to seeing you there!

We’ve just added a new product to our lineup…the canvas portrait! Canvas portraits are those really neat photos that are printed on canvas and then stretched around a wooden frame. They are designed so no matting and frame are required to hang them on the wall.
While I’m waiting for our first PMP sample to arrive, I’ll post some photos (in a little while) of the concept as seen on a painting that Paul and I own. One great feature of this type of framing is that it makes it very easy to hang a photo on the wall. No little eye hook to try and grab. And the lack of a formal frame gives the artwork a clean, modern look.
I also think that these canvas prints make a great signature frame without the traditional “matted” look. The wedding guests just sign right on the canvas!
More to come on this topic!
