We receive dozens of requests from different wedding websites asking us to join and add our listing (for a fee, of course). So it was nice to see this new free site called WeddingWire where past brides and grooms can rate a vendor and the review shows up right when you click on the vendor’s information. It’s pure genius! No more searching through message boards or getting email referrals.
And another great feature is that other wedding vendors get to endorse those companies that they feel are fantastic! So if Paul & I love this one DJ and think he’s the bestest ever, we can say so on the endorsement. And our message will also appear right when the future bride clicks on the vendor’s link.
Now, for any of our past couples who are reading, we’d love for you to head out to WeddingWire and give us an honest assessment to help out those future brides. The best part is once you complete 5 referrals from vendors who performed at your own wedding you get a free gift card.
And free is good!

It’s finally finished! Our Best Of series has grown by one this week. 2006′s album is heading to production and I hope to have it in time for our January bridal shows.

What’s this?, you ask….
Each year Paul and I pick out our top wedding photos from each wedding and put everything together in an album. It’s kind of like our own little wedding album only it covers each couple, ceremony, and reception from the year’s weddings. Usually there’s a lot of arguing, bargaining, and trading to narrow down the choices. That’s quite a feat considering that in 2006 we took over 57,000 photos for 39 weddings. That’s not even counting those other projects like engagement shoots, bridal sessions, and Splash the Dress field trips.
Some of the images stand on their own like Image #33 or #241, some have an underlying story that may only be apparent to those who were at the wedding like the deluge of rain that fell all night for the bride in image #201, some have the story evolve over several images like the laughing cigar smoker in Images #248 & #249, and some are just those spectacular shots where everything felt right and we couldn’t wait to get home to see the photo on the big screen like Image #24 and #189.
So here they are, 262 of our personal favorites from 2006.
And we can’t wait to get started on 2007′s….

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… Well, not quite yet! (I’m still one of those people that believes Christmas decorations don’t go up until the day after Thanksgiving.) But in the world of photo processing and album manufacturing, the Christmas rush is right now.
Those of you who have already ordered albums for holiday gifts know that your albums have been submitted already. It feels good to have those in before the deadlines from the different companies. So after today, any album orders that go in will not be delivered until after the holidays.
Print orders have a different deadline. Any print orders for the holidays need to be submitted to the lab by December 12th. So keep that in mind if you’re toying with the idea of getting Great Aunt Beatrice a nice 11×14 enlargement for her family weddings wall of fame.
And we will do everything in our power to ensure that your orders get to you with enough time for shipping to those distant relatives.
Happy Holidays!
