Whew!

Cyndy | Weddings | Thursday, October 11th, 2007

October is by far our busiest month of the year:

  • Great weather makes it a prime time to get married
  • Paul & I celebrate our anniversary in October
  • Many of our engagement sessions occur during this time of year so couples can take advantage of the changing leaves
  • We get our albums ordered for the Christmas delivery (cutoff is early November, believe it or not!)
  • The Knot requests wedding submissions for publishing consideration
  • We start to prepare for our January bridal show to kick off the new 2009 wedding season
  • Boudoir customers are getting their appointments scheduled for a sexy Christmas gift for their hubbies
  • And my birthday falls in October!

If that weren’t enough, we currently have a landscaping project taking place to snazz up the front of the studio and house and make the yard more “user friendly” for those customers who want both a studio session and a little bit of outdoor photography as well.  Personally, I’m pretty excited about this latest project.  I love planting flowers, bulbs and trees and watching them grow throughout the year.  Part of what we love about our yard is the great variety of song birds that visit our place and decide to nest here for the summer.  We open the office window and listen to the house wrens sing their song as their little hatchlings call out for Momma & Poppa.

So here’s to Fall Brides and October and blue skies and crisp nights!

Admired by Beckstead…Again!

Cyndy | Weddings | Friday, October 5th, 2007

Ok, if you’ve been following the blog for a while you know that David Beckstead is one of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers in the world. He runs a site called Admired By Beckstead which showcases other photographers’ work that he really likes.  We were chosen again for another cool shot of Paul’s!

This photo was taken at a wedding earlier this year.  Paul just happened to see the great shape in the shadows (and isn’t this what it’s all about anyways?).  Check us out on the official page.

And if you’re interested in seeing our first appearance on the Admired site, just click this link to see our beautiful bride Kathy’s photo from her stand-alone bridal session at the Carnegie Museum.
