Our couples are some of the most creative people out there. Don’t just take our word for it, check out the Trib’s article about couples who personalize their wedding. Hey, maybe I’m a little biased being a two-time Penn State grad myself!

One of our recent brides surprised us with some great news. Kelly – married in April of 2009 - was chosen to be a Maggie Bride and have one of her wedding photos on the Maggie Sottero website! Excellent!

We’re extra excited this month! We found out that one of our great couples will appear in the Whirl Wedding Guide out on newsstands this month. Here’s a link to the floral section and our photo of Natalie’s bouquet (which really was exquisite!). And for your own beautiful bouquet, give April at Mocha Rose a call

You never know what you will find in a church. But, truth be told, Pittsburgh has some of the most beautiful churches we’ve ever seen. Just ask Lindsey and Scott, our couple for May 29th. The New Brighton church they chose for their ceremony was just lovely. And it held a nice little surprise for us. While lugging my gear up the stairs to the balcony, I spotted this beautiful stained glass window which was the perfect height to match Lindsey.
The resulting photos are something special! A special thanks goes out to Scott and Lindsey for scheduling some extra photography time into their day so we could play around and take photos like these. You two ROCK!

No other sport has the rich history of photography integrated into it like baseball. That’s why Paul and I always experience a little thrill when we get to photograph a wedding reception at PNC Park. The Lexus Club is decked out with old black and white photos of guys with nicknames like Pie and Honus. Everyone in Pittsburgh knows about Honus, but I had the privelidge of sitting next to Pie’s photo during dinner and really had a chance to study the photographic style of the nameless photographer who’s probably long gone by now. It got me thinking that someday future generations will look at wedding or family photos that Paul and I took and wonder about them. Maybe even wonder about us in a small way as well…
So the tradition is to take the couple out to the stands and shoot a few photos. That’s great, but my favorite photo of the night is this one, taken while Kristin and Philip were walking back to the reception. The hallway isn’t pretty but these two are. And that’s all that matters in the end.

And we really have the best stadium in the majors. GO BUCS!
